Why POTUS Loves to Visit Asheville, NC: It's All About Liberals!

There is some North Carolina history you might not be aware of, a state run by Democrats and their good-old-boy politicians.

It is why I was not surprised by the story titled, Pastor Yanked From Capitol Over 'Jesus' Prayer, run on July 9, 2010. FOX News reported that the honorary chaplain of the North Carolina state house of representatives, Pastor Ron Baity, would be relieved of his duties for speaking the word of Jesus to the many soiled good-old-boy weasels of the NC state legislature, his being yanked off of state property.

I mean doesn't the Bible in Matthew 7:6 already warn of throwing pearls to swine anyway?

In fact, I believe North Carolina might have the record for the most elected government officials ever to be sentenced to jail. But as the state of North Carolina turns even more liberal, who will be left to put the corrupt away? The Democrat Party probably hopes nobody, the new DNC in Washington already at work doing this from the top down under Obama's new (DOI) Department of Injustice.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. - Thomas Jefferson

Looking at it this way, it's obvious Jesus (or any other religious figure) hasn't been around much to instruct those elected to (cough) serve in North Carolina state government about morals and character. Besides, unfortunately in democracies the people usually get the government they richly deserve.

I guess this especially applies to America since it's no longer a Republic, the demise of the status warned by Thomas Jefferson. He said it would happen if the people were ever to vote to take free money off the backs of others, which they it did in the November election of 2008 of the Socialist Barack H. Obama.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. - Thomas Jefferson

So as Rev. Wright had shouted from his pulpit, I guess the chickens really have come home to roast.

Therefore, it should be no surprise that North Carolina is becoming one of the most liberal progressive states in the union. For instance, state law had required that when a citizen accepts an elected position in NC they're required to put their hand on a Bible to be sworn into office.

But in the last November election for a councilman in Asheville, North Carolina, Cecil Bothwell, an atheist, openly broke the law and refused to put his hand on a Bible as an oath to promise to be honorable when serving the people of Asheville. The North Carolina DOJ simply ignored Bothwell's refusal, Bothwell instead giving an oath based on his own value system. In the end Cecil was allowed to openly break state law, the North Carolina Department of (cough) Justice reported to have done nothing.

This is the same department that allowed the Duke craziness to go on for so long that officials could no longer hide the injustices they had personally allowed by one of their own dirt bags, Mike Nifong.

DOJ won't investigate Duke lacrosse prosecutor Nifong

The NC DOJ's blatant disregard for justice had finally made global headlines, revealing an operation run by a bunch of good-old-boys drunk from too much power and moonshine, a laughing stock operation delivered to the world of the Keystone Cops.

Keystone Kops - The Keystone Hotel

A few years ago the state also ignored the growing membership of the new SDS from the 1960s, SDS members chasing a former conservative Congressman off the Campus of UNC at Chapel Hill. Looking at their Web site, you would have to agree the North Carolina DOJ had to know what was going to come down. Yet as with Nifong, it simply turned its head knowing a former congressman would be put into harm's way.

Speak out for immigrants rights and against racism! TODAY-6pm-the Pit

The former congressman had come to UNC at Chapel Hill to discuss the serious problem of illegal aliens in America at an evening event when the SDS threw rocks, breaking the glass in the classroom windows he was speaking in, threatening his life.

Tom Tancredo Event UNC Shut Down By Violence

UNC was also the same campus where most employees of its student library had been complaining annually they were offended by Christmas trees being put up during, you know, the "Christmas" holiday. So the director decided not to put them up, keeping them locked up in storage. Of course there were no reports of anyone asking the students what they wanted, the paying customers who are supposed to be the ones served.

No Christmas Trees at UNC

North Carolina became a state that would be owned by the Democrat Party from 1898 when the party's white supremacists created an environment where over a dozen black Republican businessmen were openly murdered for being conservative and black. After that event the state has been owned by the Democrat Party.

About 60 years later the state's arrogant Democrat Party would go on to name its annual state fund raising event after one of those supremacists, Charles Aycock, saying (cough) he was an advocate of education.

How Democrats and the Media Destroyed Freedoms Before!

It's amazing how the facts of White Supremacists when they were Democrats have their bigot history somehow erased, as in this Grave finding Web site.
Charles Aycock, NC White Supremacist and Educator

Yet Charles B. Aycock was reported to have said the following in a speech he made in December of 1903 to the North Carolina Society, five years after the massacre of conservative blacks in North Carolina:

"But there flows in my veins the blood of the dominant race; that race that has conquered the earth and seeks out the mysteries of the heights and depths. If manifest destiny leads to the seizure of Panama, it is certain that it likewise leads to the dominance of the Caucasian. When the negro recognizes this fact we shall have peace and good will between the races."

So with Obama along with his Democrats in Congress pushing for socialist agendas such euthanasia, faith-based physicians forced to give abortions in hospitals, and abortions paid by the American taxpayers, with North Carolina already having a state medical board accountable to no one in a Democrat supported legislature state, the state political environment is environmentally ripe for abuses against any doctors who finds the new Obamacare Health bill offensive or interfering with their patient-doctor relationship.

Of course if a Republican fund-raising committee did this for a fine educated citizen who was also an upstanding North Carolina White Supremacist, it would have been called Racist by the likes of Jesse Jackson, arranging bus loads of NAACP members to protest those fund-raising meetings.

But for the North Carolina Democrat Party? Not those good-old-boys, having its fund raiser named after Aycock for over forty years now.

As I have always said about too many Democrats leaders today, the heart doesn't fall far from the sheets, proven again in Bill Clinton's tearful speech over the death of West Virginia's Senator Robert Byrd, the progressive media's lap dogs licking up Clinton's words as fast as they could.

Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government. - Thomas Jefferson - (And when they are not?)

Ironically, it was reported that it was Bill Clinton himself who had made a comment to the late Senator Ted Kennedy, saying of a potential Obama candidacy, A few years ago this guy would have been getting us coffee.

Teddy's anger

You would think blacks in NC, or even good old Al Sharpton, would picket the North Carolina's Democrat's annual fund raiser named in Aycock's honor. But hell no, black Democrats even attend it, celebrating the deaths of those black conservatives they sometimes call Oreo Cookies today, an obviously accepted racist statement only allowed by Democrats and America's drive-by media such as CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times, TIME, Newsweek Magazine, the New Yorker, etc. Do I really need to go on about these progressive bigots?

EVEN Obama attended one of those events during his 2008 campaign in Asheville. He later returned this year for his vacation at the same facility where the event had featured, the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. The local daily newspaper of record for Asheville, the Asheville Citizen Times owned by Gannett, even wet its panties writing of all the places in the area their POTUS could visit.

Live coverage of President Barack Obama in Asheville coming today

Oh, on the values of the now Councilman Cecil Bothwell?

He had written a book calling Billy Graham the Prince of War and reported that the fetus was a parasite to its mother, similar ideologies found with some of Obama's Czars.

Asheville, North Carolina Councilman Cecil Bothwell Acts as Abortion Center Escort

Bothwell also supports the growing of hemp, wanting farmers in the area to plant the stuff to (cough) help the local economy.

Hemp History Week: Asheville

And you thought California was liberal, Asheville called Little San Francisco. I refer to it as Boulder East because of the progressive major U.S. weather research centers located in each city. It you remember it was also Boulder's School System that had brought in "experts" to speak to the students at the local high school about enjoying sex and drugs, parents furious they weren't notified of the content of the event.

As an unknown preacher once warned to a society that slobbers over so many of its progressive celebrities and their ideologies, If God blesses America, he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

But don't laugh. The warning was real. Lech Walesa, the Polish freedom fighter who fought Russian domination over his country and put his life on the line, recently observed America was no longer the moral authority of the world. This was around the same time Barack Obama was flying Air Force One up to Norway to grab a Noble Peace Prize for himself for what the committee said, "he might do," as opposed to what Walesa did do.

As we have discovered since for Obama, it hasn't been much.

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe. - Frederick Douglass

N.C. Marine Camp's Water Under Scrutiny

By RITA BEAMISH
The Associated Press
Monday, June 11, 2007; 7:26 PM

ATLANTA -- Thousands of Marines and their families went to serve their country at North Carolina's Camp Lejeune.

Instead, many wound up fighting it, blaming the government for failing to protect them from an enemy that invaded their lives in a most intimate way: through the water that quenched their thirst, cooked their food and filled their bathtubs every day.

The gruff ex-drill instructor is angry leukemia claimed his daughter, Janey. Parents were guilt-ridden that perhaps their own actions had ruined their daughters' health. An aging major still mourns the wife who shared his torment over their baby's fatal birth defects. A former Navy doctor's career was demolished by his rare cancer.

Each used the water that poured from kitchen faucets and bathroom showers at Camp Lejeune, an environmental tragedy realized a generation ago that is drawing new scrutiny from members of Congress outraged over the government's treatment of sick veterans at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and elsewhere.

U.S. health officials here in Atlanta hope to finish a long-awaited study by year's end to examine whether the water tainted with solvents affected the health of children. It will influence the Pentagon's response to at least 850 pending legal claims by people who lived at the Marine base, officials said. The former residents, who together seek nearly $4 billion, believe their families were afflicted by water containing industrial solvents before the Marines shut off the bad wells in the mid-1980s.

At least 120,000 people lived in family housing that may have been affected over three decades, plus uncounted civilian workers and Marines in barracks, Marine Corps figures indicate. Defense officials recently told U.S. health investigators that between 1975 and 1985 alone, nearly 200,000 Marines were stationed at Camp Lejeune.

About 56,000 Marines, family members and civilians now live or work at Camp Lejeune, the sprawling training and deployment base on the Atlantic seaboard. Its water meets current federal standards.

Health officials and lawmakers complain that the Defense Department has delayed disclosure of important documents during investigations into the health impact of water contaminated by a dry cleaner adjacent to Camp Lejeune and by the base's past industrial activities.

"We wouldn't be investigating this disgraceful situation if (the Department of Defense) had put half as much effort into cleaning up the water as it has into stonewalling those who drank it," said Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. A subcommittee expects to conduct an oversight hearing Tuesday, the first in a broader review by Democrats investigating the Pentagon's environmental record.

The scrutiny comes as federal regulators consider whether to tighten restrictions on solvents known as TCE, trichloroethylene, and PCE, tetrachloroethylene, common contaminants at military and private industrial sites. The chemicals were highlighted in a 1998 movie starring John Travolta, "A Civil Action," about a lawsuit against corporate polluters in Woburn, Mass.

Marine Corps officials said Camp Lejeune followed environmental rules in effect at the time.

"The health and safety of our Marines and their dependents is of primary concern to the Marine Corps," the service said in a statement. "Base officials provided drinking water consistent with industry practices at the time."

Rep. Barton Stupak, D-Mich., who will preside over the upcoming congressional hearings, complained that the Defense Department considers environmental cleanups to be a low priority. "That has to change," he said.

Government health experts now believe the truth at Camp Lejeune is worse than anyone knew: Its water was contaminated as far back as 1957, and until 1987.

The newly recognized endpoint _ nearly two years after the Marines said they closed all the tainted wells _ is identified in a new federal water study scheduled for release this month. It is part of the continuing government study by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry into whether Camp Lejeune's water led to leukemia and birth defects in children.

Camp Lejeune's population is believed the largest ever exposed to the solvents at such high levels. The Environmental Protection Agency is overseeing cleanups at more than 150 military installations polluted by the same chemicals. Drinking water usually was unaffected, but underground contamination migrated to surrounding neighborhoods and wells at some sites.

From Cape Cod to the Hawaiian islands, the Defense Department has been forced to provide bottled water, treat ground water and well water and switch residents to municipal water systems. But those incidents have rarely led to litigation or claims like those against Camp Lejeune.

_At the former McClellan Air Force Base in northern California, pollution forced officials to close neighborhood wells, including one that served 23,000 people, after TCE and PCE were found migrating from the base in 1979. Residents now are connected to municipal water systems.

_On Cape Cod, the Massachusetts Military Reservation polluted the main water source for thousands of local residents with hazardous solvents, rocket fuel and other toxins over many years. Officials closed numerous wells and connected residents to municipal water. The Air Force built water treatment systems and the cleanup continues.

At Camp Lejeune, the Marine Corps said in a written statement it gave U.S. health investigators "full access" to its records, including "vast and varied" documents, e-mails, maps, contracts and technical information. However, military lawyers acknowledged they are blocking plans for health officials to disclose some records publicly, citing privacy, legal and security concerns.

"We have always sought to provide a timely response to (health investigators') requests for documents within our control," the Marine Corps said.

Health officials repeatedly have complained about slow Defense responses to their information requests, correspondence shows. Military officials initially opposed a full study of child illnesses and balked for three years at paying for it, according to documents reviewed by The Associated Press.

A criminal investigation by the Environmental Protection Agency and Justice Department in 2005 at Camp Lejeune noted that federal rules limiting TCE and PCE in drinking water were not in effect until 1989 and 1992 _ years after the exposure. The probe found no legal violation or conspiracy to conceal information.

Families are convinced drinking and bathing in the water made them sick, although proof is elusive. They are angry the wells ran for four years after the first sign of contamination in 1980 and 1981, and that the government hasn't notified others who were likely exposed at Camp Lejeune.

Among revelations drawing new scrutiny from Washington: On four occasions to ease a temporary water shortage in 1985 the Marines quietly reopened one well at night even after they had shut it down because of contamination.

Two former Marines, retired Master Sgt. Jerry Ensminger and retired Maj. Tom Townsend, have directed their grief into an encyclopedic collection of historical documents, hydrology data, e-mails and other military files they obtained mostly under the Freedom of Information Act. Townsend's stack of papers reaches 20 feet.

Townsend's infant son, Christopher, suffered a fatal heart malformation and other birth defects. By the time his wife of 52 years died of liver cirrhosis last year, Townsend was sure the water was to blame.

Ensminger's wife was pregnant at Camp Lejeune in the 1970s. Their daughter, Janey, died in 1985 at age 9. He described taking dark-haired Janey to the hospital instead of her third-grade classroom, weeping as he watched her slip away. She told him to stop, that she loved him. She lapsed into a coma. She died that day.

"My question is how many more of these scenarios played out in private hospital rooms or in private rooms of people's homes?" Ensminger asked.

PCE and TCE are believed to be carcinogens. TCE is a degreaser and PCE is used in dry cleaning. Studies link them to cancers and to kidney, liver and immune disorders, as well as childhood leukemia and neural tube defects.

Two earlier government health reports on Camp Lejeune underestimated how many base houses the contamination may have reached, documents show. The Marines failed to correct the error even when they reviewed the reports before publication. Townsend spotted the mistake and notified them in 2000, the Marine Corps acknowledged.

The Marines updated their Web site but never told federal health investigators, despite repeated urging by a Marine headquarters environmental official.

"It is important to set the record straight," Kelly Dreyer, the official, wrote in an e-mail to the base in 2000. Eventually, in 2003, Townsend and Ensminger notified the health agency, which is now revising one flawed study.

At a health meeting weeks ago in Atlanta, a former Marine air traffic controller, Jeff Byron, accused the military's bureaucracy of hindering progress on health studies.

Byron and his wife, Mary, wondered whether they might have prevented their two daughters' litany of health problems, including an oral cleft birth defect, spinal disorder and a rare condition called aplastic anemia. Then they became convinced the water was at fault.

"When we moved into base housing, we thought we were moving into a safe environment," Byron said.

Former Navy Dr. Mike Gros of Houston also is upset at the pace of the health investigations, which so far have focused on health risks to fetuses.

Gros lived with his family in a tidy two-story house near the Camp Lejeune hospital where he cared for women and babies in the early 1980s. Later, as a civilian physician, he was stunned to learn he suffers from a rare T-cell lymphoma, which his physician blames on exposure to TCE.

Gros's weak immune system now keeps him home. His life revolves around his massive drug regimen. A federal appeals court recently rejected his bid to sue the government for contaminating him.

"They drag it out and by the time you get them all done, everybody would be dead anyway," he said. "That's the whole purpose of their delaying tactics and it's succeeding."

Folks this is totally inhuman

Come on Commissioners

Get off you butts and do something and don't tell them you have

to be exposed to it for 20 years--this is not a joke..

Here is Patricia Pinner's recent email to the community.

(was written to elected officials etc)

for - Fw: Municipal water for residents of Chapel Hill Church and Gilmore Drive - Asheville

Hey there,

I consider you the most influential people I know in Asheville, so I am contacting you to ask a favor.  If you know anyone who works for the Asheville City or Buncombe County governments, or if you know anyone on the County Commissioners or City Council, would you please put in a good word for me?  As you many recall, I am trying to obtain municipal water for a group of residents who live on Chapel Hill Church and Gilmore Drive.  Below is a message I have just sent to the EPA and NCDENR.  I am only asking for this service for our future health.

I have tried to be patient, kind, and slow to anger but I think I'm losing that composure.  You know me well enough to know that is not my character.  Thank you in advance for any help.

Many thanks, God's blessings, and Merry Christmas,

Patricia

(was written to EPA and Raleigh)

Dear Ms. Callihan and Mr. Zinn,

Thank you again for stopping by our house at 33 Chapel Hill Church Road, Asheville, in September of 2009 to insure that we were having our well tested, as well as to ask us to encourage our neighbors to have their wells tested, for toxicity from the CTS plant on Mills Gap Road.  As you know, we have had our well tested on a regular basis since November of 2007, thanks to an article you had in the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper.  I am very thankful that you let us know about well testing and that you conduct well testing, and very glad we agreed to have that done, especially considering my neighbor’s well, David Bradley’s, tested off the charts in TCE toxicity and continues to increase.  When I asked you at that time, Ms. Callihan, what I needed to do in order to obtain municipal water for our home, you directed me to contact my local government.

I have contacted both Buncombe County and Asheville City governments by email on numerous occasions, offered to meet with anyone one-on-one regarding our situation, and have spoken at a County Commissioners’ Meeting, as well as waited over 4 hours to speak at an Asheville City Council Meeting.  My two speeches are attached in case you have any interest in reading exactly what I said and asked for.

It was stated at a recent County Commissioners Meeting, that the residents of Chapel Hill Church are in no eminent risk of health situation.

I feel somewhat naïve thinking all I had to do was make our apparent need known in order to obtain municipal water.  Silly me also thought being a native of Asheville/Buncombe County would have some bearing.  I have to admit I have considered moving away on account of my frustration, however, without municipal water I would not be able to sell my home, considering the close proximity (within one mile) of the CTS plant.  I feel like I am on a deserted island and certainly “shafted.”

Asheville City put together a proposal for the residents of Chapel Hill Church and Gilmore Drive to obtain municipal water, but they do not have the funds to complete the project.

Since our meeting in September, I have learned a GREAT deal.  By going door-to-door with my neighbors I learned that all of the houses at the beginning of Chapel Hill Church Road have municipal water!  I was shocked!  Other than David Bradley and his homes, everyone up to our house on the right of the street already have municipal water.  There are only 14 homes at the end of Chapel Hill Church Road and Gilmore Drive that do not have municipal water.  We are also the closest homes to The Oaks Subdivision.  You may recall that five houses out of about 40 in The Oaks tested positive for the TCE contaminant and ALL the homes in Oaks now have municipal water thanks to a joint effort of Buncombe County and Asheville City .

It is my opinion that the few isolated homes (14) at the end of my street were simply overlooked at the time The Oaks received municipal water.  NO ONE THOUGHT ABOUT US.  I am not placing blame anywhere, I wouldn’t have a clue who to blame.

I do know that:

1)      We are closer to the CTS plant than anyone in The Oaks, as “the crow flies” or as “the car drives.”

2)      Our neighbor’s well, David Bradley’s, has tested higher than any one house in The Oaks and possibly higher than all the toxic wells combined from The Oaks, and it continues to increase in toxicity.

In short, I am contacting you, Ms. Callihan and Mr. Zinn, to ask for your help.  Help in anyway you can.  If you can let Buncombe County government know that giving us municipal water might be a good idea based on health, goodwill, avoiding a lawsuit later, whatever the case may be, and/or if you can supplement the cost of installing municipal water to the City of Asheville for those of us who need it on Chapel Hill Church and Gilmore Drive I would be most grateful.  I will be more grateful than you can possibly know.

A friend of mine just mentioned “sensitivity testing” to me as it relates to working with blind and deaf populations.  She attended County/City government meetings in the state of Florida and they would put blindfolds on the members or in other ways let them experience what it felt like to be handicapped.  I think we are in need of some “sensitivity testing” here in Buncombe County .  If our government officials lived in my home for a month or so I think they would start to wonder if they should drink the water or bath in the water, or cook with the water...or not.  It’s the NOT KNOWING that keeps me up at night.  As you and I have discussed before, no one on this earth knows, without doubt, what is taking place beneath the ground surface.

Thank you for listening and for any help you can offer us.  Also attached is a Goggle Earth map showing how close these 14 homes are to the CTS plant and The Oaks.

Sincerely,

Patricia Pinner
